Last Friday night I had fun leading a Mandala art therapy workshop through Main Line School Night (MLSN) at the Creutzburg Center, located in Radnor's Harford Park. The Center is a beautiful place, such welcoming energy and a relaxing studio/classroom space for the workshop.

I have been to this park a few times with my dog Maddy because across from the Center is a wide open space for dogs to run around. It's wonderful!

Workshop participants were asked to create art work as a group, like the tree above and then create their own healing Mandala which represented their core 'pilot light' that never goes out regardless of what challenges each person has experienced in the past or present.

On the way out of the park I came across about 8 deer and as always, sat there mesmerized by their beauty and grace. A special ending to a wonderful night.

Thanks to all who attended the workshop and a big thank you to Hillary from MLSN! More workshops to come in the Fall. :)

Wow does time fly, hard to believe my first herb class at the shop was almost three weeks ago. We had a great turn out of 11 people. The morning started out with fresh brewed lemon ginger tea along with spice muffins made from Chrissannthemum spices and baked with love by my friend Charmaine that were delicious.

The workshop began with reviewing a glossary of terms commonly used in working with herbs, reviewing the benefits of using herbal liquid extracts, guidelines for the general administration of herbal remedies, how to prepare herbal tea, how to prepare an herbal poultice, and then we reviewed the herbs lined up on the table in the picture above; Astragalus, Burdock, Calendula, Catnip, Chamomile, Comfrey, Dandelion, Echinacea, Elder Berries, Garlic, Ginger, Hawthorn Berries, Lemon Balm, Nettle, Oatstraw, Peppermint, Red Clover, Slippery Elm, St. John's Wort, Valarian and Yarrow. It's great to be able to have the workshop at the shop, allowing for exposure to the herb's scent, texture and energy.

After reviewing the herbs, my favorite part of the workshop began...Q&A and making herbal stuff! Everyone who attended created a two part herbal tea from the herbs we had reviewed and was asked to share why they had chosen their particular herbs. Participants also created a jar of bath salts containing a mixture of dead sea salts, mineral bath salts, epsom salts, himalayan pink salt, white clay, olive oil, and herbs from the shop.

Thanks to all who attended it was lovely meeting you, I hope you learned some new things about herbs and enjoyed your herbal creations.

Be Well,
Christine
